- Satisfy the demand of local, regional and national society, aiming at excellence in the training of professors and researchers in the area.
- To stimulate the scientific and social development of the country, based on the Salvadoran, Bahian, northeastern and Brazilian reality, through the promotion of teaching, research, extension and innovation in IC.
- Develop theoretical, conceptual and methodological studies on topics related to IC, with a focus on the scientific consolidation of the area, in addition to promoting debates on the Multi, Inter and Transdisciplinarity (MIT) of the area, at the national and international level.
